BIOGRAPHY

Born in Plymouth, UK in the 60s I have loved and deeply connected with music all my life. I’ve been active as a musician since leaving school at age 16. After starting on guitar and drums, I switched, concentrating on the electric bass in 1979.

I also compose, arrange and produce original instrumental music and songs with two albums completed to date including “Earthrise”. I have led and been musical director of many bands and will be forming an exciting ensemble to perform the music of “Earthrise” in the near future.

My compositions can be quite broad stylistically as I have an eclectic taste in music and don’t see any real musical boundaries, embracing the term “fusion” in the broadest sense. I’m particularly fond of Jazz Rock, Prog and Afro American Funky Music from the 70s into the early 80s and heavily draw upon those influences in my music.

I play guitar, keyboards and can cook up a groove on the drums, use Cubase and Sibelius to realise compositions and production projects.

I achieved an honours degree in Popular Music and Recording from Salford University and a teaching qualification with 25 years experience in music education.

I spent periods living and working in the South West, London and a long stint in Manchester and the North West though the 90s and into the new Millennium.
I’m now into a new phase as a composer, producer and artist presenting “Earthrise” to fans of progressive music.
